The Quantitative Methods in Demography Workshop and
Tutorial (QMDWT)
is focused on the data analysis and applications of demographic data and
mainly population, death and life table data. Models, methods and
techniques of application are given along with the appropriate computer
programs.
All the QMDWT participants
will receive a copy of the computer programs used and related documentation.
- Preliminaries. Models and modeling (Gompertz, Weibull, Logistic, Lee-Carter, Heligman-Pollard, Brass, Stochastic,...)
- The stochastic theory and related models and modeling
- Demographic data and data analysis
- Mortality measurement and modelling at advanced ages (Leonid A. Gavrilov and Natalia S. Gavrilova)
- Fitting non-linear regression analysis to data (Programs and Excel presentations)
- Life expectancy estimates by using life tables and other methods
- Applications to specific cases (The applications include more than
35 countries)
The conference participants may subscribe to the Quantitative Methods in Demography Workshop and
Tutorial (QMDWT) free of charge.
For non-conference participants 150 EUR fees apply for early registration (before 30 March 2012).
Special rates apply for students.
